The Beginnings
Hello, I am Nicola, the founder of The Thameside Gift Company, established in September 2025. We are based in Boulter’s Lock, a beautiful spot along the River Thames in Berkshire.
My journey into candle making began in 2022, after receiving a candle making box set for my birthday. That is how my passion for the craft was ignited (excuse the pun!) This then grew into crafting and selling a few candles to family, friends and neighbours for Christmas and other special occasions.
But, the Story doesn't end there
I have always enjoyed visiting our unique and thriving local artisanal craft markets and have been pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the products on offer there. Moreover, I have always relished in the act of thoughtful gifting to friends and family.
And, this is is where the idea was born - to create both a premium Home Fragrance company and a local Gift Box company all in one. By buying any of our products or gift boxes, you are helping small local businesses to thrive and grow!
Our Mission
Thoughtful, local gifting at an affordable price is what we are all about. All the main products we include in our gift boxes are produced by us and other small businesses within the Thames Valley region (mostly within a 20-mile radius of Boulter's Lock). Yes, you can buy gift boxes elsewhere containing products bought from wholesalers, but that’s not us. We aim to be different.
We make all of our Home Fragrance products in small batches and only use premium fragrances and essential oils in all of our handmade products. Plus, all the products we make are vegan, cruelty-free and fully IFRA compliant.

If you’d like to explore our bespoke offerings, please do drop us a message to discuss your requirements, using the contact form link below. We can provide private-label and branded candles tailored to your business or event. Our bespoke candle service starts from just £10 per candle, with a minimum order quantity of 25–30 per order.

We can also customise our gift boxes to suit any recipient, occasion or event - for example, birthdays, weddings or other special celebrations. We also cater to the corporate market, so if you are looking for gift boxes for your clients or employees, look no further!
